Welcome to www.MeikleKirkland.com! My name is Elaine Halliday, and I was brought up on Meikle Kirkland farm in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland, with my William George Halliday parents and two sisters. I had an idylic childhood, and was lucky enough to have lived there for the first 25 years of my life. Since then, my parents are still farming Meikle Kirkland, my sisters have moved north to Glasgow and Cumbernauld, and I moved south of the border to Fareham (Hampshire, England) to live with my partner. I originally bought www.meiklekirkland.com a few years ago, with the intention of making a website about the farm. I eventually began this website on 7th April 2006 to pull together all my findings on the farm's history, the people who lived there, the machinery used.....basically all the information I have discovered along the way. I will also include any maps, links, sources and anything else I have. Aerial Photo of Meikle Kirkland

If you have any connections to the farm, or would just like to get in touch with me, then please feel free to contact me, as I would like to hear from you. I welcome any information, questions and suggestions. All the information I have presented on this website is correct to the best of my knowledge, however, if you find that some of my information is not accurate, then please let me know and I will make the appropriate changes.

I hope you enjoy the website!
